Many things are changing at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore but one very important aspect remains the same, committed team member Donny Herington. Donny has been the Head Clerk at the ReStore for the past five years but his journey with Habitat did not start there. Donny’s father, Bob Herington is a long-time supporter of Habitat for Humanity and was instrumental in volunteering and supervising on 17 home builds. Father and son volunteered together for seven years before Donny was hired on as full-time staff at the ReStore. As the veteran employee for Habitat for Humanity, Donny brings institutional knowledge and commitment to the mission and vision of Habitat. When asked what Donny enjoys most about his job he stated, “Knowing that I am helping families get into affordable homes and helping in the community.” Donny has a personal goal to see the ReStore grow and bring in more funding in order to support two houses a year. The ReStore is in need of quality donations that can be resold in our store. There is a complete brochure of acceptable donations on our website at tillamookhabitat.org under ReStore. The ReStore staff is now available to schedule donation pickups on both Tuesdays and Saturdays. Gas donations are greatly appreciated. When asked where Donny wants to be five years down the road he said, “Right here, right where I am at. I love this organization and how I get to serve.” The ReStore is open Monday-Saturday 9-5.
